James Drzymala
Vice President
James Drzymala was born and raised in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and later relocated to Florida to pursue a career in law enforcement.
Drzymala served for 30 years with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2024. Throughout his distinguished career, he held a wide range of assignments, including Patrolman, Detective, and Major Crimes Detective. He advanced through the ranks, serving as Sergeant over Patrol and Investigations; Lieutenant over Patrol Operations, Major Crimes, Traffic, and Special Details; Investigations and Patrol Bureau Watch Commander; Assistant District Commander; and Agency Incident Commander during several large-scale planned events and natural disasters.
During his tenure, Drzymala received numerous awards and citations in recognition of his service to the agency and the community. He attained the rank of Captain and was promoted to Commander upon his retirement.
Highly active in the community, Drzymala serves as a Trustee at Florida Gulf Coast University, having been appointed in 2026 by Governor DeSantis.
Drzymala also serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Florida Safety Council, an organization dedicated to promoting safety in industry, at home, on the highway, and in public spaces. The Council provides DUI support classes, driver safety programs, and treatment referrals for individuals convicted of DUI and has served Southwest Florida since 1964.
Drzymala holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Edison Community College, now Florida SouthWestern State College, and a graduate degree in Public Administration from Barry University.
