ACT’s Volunteer Job Opportunities fall into two basic categories based on where you Volunteer within ACT. Please let us know if you have any special talents that are not listed.

Direct Service volunteer positions involve direct contact with ACT clients. Therefore, direct service volunteers are required to have initial Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault training, a total of 54 hours of classroom training and 12 hours of on-the-job training. After the initial training, direct service volunteers will be required to obtain 16 hours of domestic violence training, and 6 hours of sexual assault training each and every volunteer year according to ACT fiscal year.

Some programs such as ACT’s On-Call Program part of our Volunteer Crisis Response Team receive additional specialized training.  All training is conducted in the Admin offices of ACT. After completion of training, a Local and FBI background check will be conducted, as well as a Drug Test on all direct service volunteers. Below are some examples of volunteer opportunities that fall into the Direct Service category.

Indirect Service volunteers receive on-the-job training, and there are no Background or Drug Test requirements. Below is a list of some Indirect Opportunities.
