ACT welcomes those interested in helping us put together fundraising events, as well as those interested in volunteering or donating a gift towards upcoming fundraising efforts (such as gift baskets and gift cards or gift certificates). When it comes to fundraising, we encourage community support in a variety of capacities.

The following are some opportunities for fundraising that we welcome you to consider with your group or organization:

Help us raise money through setting up a cell phone drop off location for members of the community to donate their unwanted or unused cell phones.

• Why is this a good fundraising idea?
  • ACT works with the Shelter Alliance to participate in collecting and recycling old cell phones for cash to operate our safe emergency shelters for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
• How can you help?
  • We would love some more help with new cell phone drop off location partnerships! Call us at 239.939.2553 if you would like to become a partner.
  • If you have an older model iPhone, HTC, Samsung or LG phone sitting around unwanted or unused in your home or office, you could help us by donating the phone(s) to one of our drop off locations:

Well, several businesses in our area love supporting nonprofits like ACT, and if you do too, try giving them a call to see how easy it can be to schedule a day to have a special FUNdraiser!

Inspire your business organization by leading a charity activity for ACT

• ACT works with businesses all around Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties on uniquely energizing volunteer activities. For example, some businesses provide their staff with a day where the staff can pick a nonprofit, like ACT, with an option to volunteer. Volunteer activities with ACT abound! We have an Arts for ACT Gallery in Downtown Fort Myers, the Second ACT Thrift Store (which is across from Val Ward Cadillac on US 41 in Fort Myers), and several major fundraisers planned each year. Business groups are welcome to volunteer with us in so many meaningful ways!
• Beyond the opportunities for volunteering, businesses are welcome to reach out about specific sponsorship options. In exchange for business participation at our fundraisers, we provide high visibility for businesses through our media announcements, such as press releases and media alerts, email newsletters, postcards to targeted contacts, social media advertising and posting, radio ads, TV spots, and more.
